The Black Bear Lodge of Grand Lake is Closed, and will not continue as a Motel moving forward. We will share more about the future of the property after our Closing.
We feel beyond blessed to have had this incredible opportunity to own and operate our small business in this beautiful place in the high country of Colorado. It has been a great pleasure to meet folks from all walks of life, share stories, and discover our shared humanity. Our goal has always been to provide clean, comfortable accommodations, and to provide respectful and attentive service. Judging by the number of returning guests, we feel that we achieved our goal, or at least, we gave it our best shot. We are grateful to all who chose to spend their hard-earned money supporting our family-owned small business, especially our returning guests, many of which will continue as our friends. We also want to thank all of our employees through the years, who adopted our vision and mission and have taught us so much. We could not have achieved the success that we have, without their help. Thank you to the myriad of Grand Lake and Grand County locals, who trusted us to provide a safe and comfortable place for their overflow of family and friends. We hope that our paths may cross again, as we head into the next chapters of our lives, moving it forward everyday!

We are a family owned and operated rustic mountain lodge located minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park, the Village of Grand Lake, the Colorado River, and several lakes. We proudly offer great Simmons Beautyrest mattresses and comfy pillows and linens. Strong WiFi, an indoor hot tub and sauna, and homemade banana bread are included with our promise of respectful, attentive service.
Our swimming pool is permanently closed due to major mechanical issues that occurred after having it closed due to Covid. Our indoor hot tub and sauna remain open.
Before purchasing our business, we studied and adopted the standards and procedures for cleaning and disinfection from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) website. We clean and disinfect all surfaces, TV remote controls, door handles and light switches, and then let fresh mountain air work its magic between stays. We are blessed with a team of fantastic people and regular guests from all walks of life. We hope to welcome you soon, and look forward to the opportunity to earn your repeat business.
